Solihull & Birmingham 2017
We are excited to return to Solihull to run our third Your Green Future in the area in March 2017 for schools across Solihull and Birmingham.
At the event around 500 students, from approximately 25 secondary schools and colleges, will have the opportunity to work alongside over 35 businesses in a series of creative workshops. Together they will investigate and discuss the changing face of industry and develop their own ideas and solutions to support a low carbon future.
Details for schools
We are pleased to be able to offer this event to schools free of charge as we have worked hard to secure funding. The event is currently open to all schools across Solihull and Birmingham.
Your school can attend on one of the event days, from around 9.00am to 3.30pm. You can bring a maximum of 35 students, from Years 7 - 13.
Overall, the event will provide both students and teachers with a clear, broad and up to date view of the current job market and education and training options. Additionally, the event:
- Develops students vocational skills
- Links to the National Curriculum and a wide range of college courses
- Provides ideas and inspiration surrounding sustainability for your school
- Offers networking opportunities with businesses and other teachers
- Is CPD accredited, and provides activity ideas and resources to take back to the classroom.
Sign up using our online form (via the link on the left). If you have any questions about the event please contact Zoe Newbery on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Spaces will be offered on a first come first serve basis, so sign up soon to avoid disappointment!
Calling all businesses
We are looking for a wide range of local organisations to support the running of this event.
Your organisation can support one of the interactive workshops. This involves one member of staff coming along on one or both event days, depending on how much time you can give. The staff member will work with a team of students and support them undertake an interactive challenge (outlined on the workshop page). Prior to the event we will provide you with a detailed briefing about your role - there is very little preparation required!
Your organisation can also exhibit (at no charge). For a more lasting impact your business can sponsor the event.
Details of business support can be found on our Business Participation page.
