West of England 2013
On the 6th and 7th March the Bristol and Bath Science Park hosted a cutting edge Your Green Future event for young people on sustainability and the job opportunities in the growing green economy.
The event brought together experts and thinkers to offer advice and inspiration on developing a green future to over 400 school students from the West of England.
A Dragons Den-style workshop saw students explore cutting edge green innovation, including from Caterpillar and Airbus’s A320neo aircraft.
Students engaged their creative side and developed a fashion or food item of today into a product fit for 2020. They worked with enterprising businesses, including Superdry, Friska, South West Food and Drink and Texsture.
UWE, Siemens Marine Current Turbines and Noma Architects were amongst those that worked with students to improve the sustainability of a settlement’s energy use.

The event was held during Climate Week and was a great way for schools and businesses to be part of Britain’s biggest climate change campaign.
